Alan Turing is one of Britain’s much loved national heroes. He paved the way for modern computers, he was a key figure in code-breaking during WWII and he was victim of a discriminatory law that saw him chemically castrated.

Leonardo Hotel Manchester Central wanted to dedicate an online memorial to honour and teach others about his incredible life as well as supporting our Mancunian community that honour Alan Turing as a local treasure, as well as a national hero.

From his achievements and his wartime code-breaking, to his conviction, pardon and mysterious death, our Turing memorial explores the adventures and struggles of this incredible man.
