Wild Wonder: Children’s Book Festival at Westonbirt

 

When: 27th to 29th August 2022

Time: 09:00 – 17:00

Where: Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, Westonbirt, Tetbury

 

Looking for Bristol events for the little ones this summer? If your children love reading, head to Wild Wonder at Westonbirt in August, a fantastic book festival centred around nature and the outdoors. Located a short drive from Bristol, this three-day event is perfect for families and gives kids the opportunity to meet some of their favourite authors and illustrators. The festival will feature exciting workshops, activities and story sessions that little ones will love getting involved in.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

When: 30th August to 10th September 2022

Time: Performances will take place at various times

Where: Bristol Hippodrome Theatre, St Augustine's Parade

 

This summer, head to the Bristol Hippodrome Theatre to see the brilliant production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This award-winning show has been performed in over 80 countries and is coming to Bristol for two weeks only.

 

This brand-new production is sure to wow, featuring stars from the London Palladium, including Jac Yarrow, Linzi Hateley and Jason Donovan. Sing along to songs that have become musical theatre classics, such as ‘Any Dream Will Do’ and ‘There’s One More Angel In Heaven’.

Bristol Film Festival

When: From 2nd September 2022

Time: Film screenings will take place at various times throughout summer, autumn and winter

Where: Film screenings will take place at unique locations across the city, such as Clifton Observatory, Bristol Museum and Redcliffe Caves

 

Bristol Film Festival is the ideal event for avid cinema fans. The festival begins on the 2nd of September and will run all the way through autumn and some of winter, providing immersive film screenings at different locations around Bristol. There will also be special talks, wine tastings and other fabulous highlights.

 

The lineup will include incredible titles such as Alladin, Grease and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. So whether you’re a huge fan of action movies or love horror films, Bristol Film Festival has something for all interests.

Forwards Festival

When: 3rd to 4th September 2022

Time: Doors open at 12:00 on 3rd September. Last entry is 20:00

Where: Durdham Down, Circular Road, Clifton

 

Want to book a September festival in Bristol this year? Forwards Festival is a new city festival showcasing music by incredible international music artists. One of Bristol’s most highly anticipated festivals, this two-day event aims to bring people together to enjoy memorable music moments.

 

As well as two main stages, Forwards Festival will also host The Information, a unique space for activism and debate. The 2022 lineup features fantastic artists and bands, including Jamie XX, Charli XCX, and The Chemical Brothers.

Bristol Wing Fest

When: 10th to 11th September 2022

Time: Doors open at 12:00

Where: Lloyds Amphitheatre, Explore Lane

 

Bristol Wing Fest is the world’s largest chicken wing festival, returning to the city this September after its successful 2021 debut. This festival celebrates everything to do with the chicken wing meal. It showcases food from different restaurants and street food traders who compete against one another to determine who makes the most delicious chicken wings.
