Come the first of February, it’s all about the Six Nations Rugby Championship. England reached the World Cup Final in 2019, but they’ll be looking for glory a little closer to home when they take on their nearest rivals to topple current champions, Wales. Whilst Premier League football is a staple on the London sporting scene with five London clubs in England’s top division, the capital also hosts the final battles in the search for silverware. March sees the first final of the year, the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

April sees arguably the biggest and most famous event on the London sporting calendar roll into town. The London Marathon pits the world’s best distance athletes against each other as they compete over 26 miles of the capital’s streets, shorelines and world famous locations.

Spring in London is when the sporting action really hots up with countless events happening across the capital. The stars of WWE make their way into London to lay the smack down at the beginning of the month, whilst Wembley hosts its second football final of the year, with the culmination of the domestic football season, the FA Cup Final.
The British basketball season also comes to its finale in May, with the O2 hosting the Basketball Play Off Finals, whilst there’s even more darts with Premier League Darts taking over the 02. Why not spend the entire month of May soaking up the sporting excellence in London?

Everyone’s favourite summer sporting event hits London in June. The crowds will be packed onto Murray Mount to watch the very best tennis players don their whites and serve their aces on Centre Court. There’ll be Pimm’s, strawberries and cream, Champagne and riveting rallies.
Major League Baseball is once again making an appearance on the London sporting calendar in June, but if you like your bat and ball action a little more traditional there’s the third test of England vs. The West Indies at the home of cricket, Lord’s.
June also sees the Euros kick off, with the continent’s best football teams battling it out to be crowned champions of Europe. The tournament has taken a slightly different format this time out, with matches being played across the continent rather than in one country. With Wembley stadium such an iconic and renowned venue, it’s hosting numerous matches, kicking off in June.

London looks majestic when the snow falls, but unfortunately you simply can’t rely on a British winter to bring you picture-postcard snowing scenes. But that doesn’t matter when it’s time for the Ski and Snowboard Festival. The fake snow is shipped in, and the top of the big slope pops up in between the towers of Battersea Power Station. Now that’s a sight to see!

Where once Wimbledon was the only big tennis tournament in the capital, the annual Nitto ATP Finals at the O2 has quickly established itself as a well-loved and exciting tennis event. Whilst the Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon is all about tradition, things are done a little differently on court at the O2 for this week-long event. The word’s best stars will be present, but who will triumph?
November also sees the rugby action return to Twickenham with the world-famous stadium hosting the Quilter Internationals with England taking on Argentina, Australia and the All Blacks – the latter two both defeated in England’s run to the World Cup final in 2019.
