Newcastle, a metropolitan city in Northeast England, has garnered a reputation for being one of the most fun cities in England thanks to the heavy concentration of restaurants, bars and nightclubs in its vicinity. As such, Newcastle is a great locale for some of the country's best comedians. Jason Manford, Dara O'Briain and Jimmy Carr all have stand-up comedy dates scheduled throughout the month of November.

Jason Manford

Jason Manford is an English comedian, actor and TV presenter. Manford has made a name for himself by hosting a variety of television shows, including his own show, Tonightly, which at one point was airing every weekday in August of 2008. He was Paramount Comedy's continuity writer and announcer as well. Manford has already led a successful UK comedy tour, and because of high sales for the following DVD, he has also begun another tour, entitled Turning Into My Dad. Manford will be at Newcastle City Hall on Saturday, November 20.

Dara O'Briain

Dara O'Briain is an Irish comedian and TV presenter. His most famous role has been that of host for the panel show, Mock the Week. O'Briain has also made a name for himself on a variety of other panel shows, including Don't Feed the Gondolas, The Panel, QI and Have I Got News for You. O'Briain's latest deal is for the host of the TV show, The Apprentice: You're Fired! You can find O'Briain at Newcastle City Hall on Wednesday, November 3.

Jimmy Carr

Jimmy Carr is a British and Irish comedian most recognized for his dark humour and iconic deadpan delivery. Carr has also been successful as a writer, actor, and radio and TV presenter. Carr's comedy career began ten years ago in 2000, and once he established himself as a veritable comedic force, he began to appear on many television shows. His most prominent role was that of host for the popular panel show, 8 Out of 10 Cats. Much of Carr's writing has appeared on Channel 4 television shows, including Meet Ricky Gervais, a chat show and Bo' Selecta!, a sketch show.Carr will be at the Newcastle City Hall on Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27.
