Nottingham Attractions

Ezekial Bone Nottingham Tours

Ezekial Bone offers fantastic character-led tours capturing Nottingham’s rich history and heritage while entertaining and educating visitors. Immerse yourself in the spirit of Nottinghamshire and enjoy Bone’s marvellous performances as you learn the history behind this legendary city.

Ezekial Bone offers three different tours: the Robin Hood Town Tour, Guts and Gore Tour and Magic Lantern Tour, all of which are highly recommended and perfect for family fun.

The Tours start at the Cross Keys, a 11 minute walk from Jurys Inn Nottingham and costs between £6-10 depending on tour and age.

Bromley House Library

For something a little different and less touristy, the Bromley House Library is the perfect place to visit. Built in 1752, this ‘town house’ is a Grade II listed building and maintains many interesting period features and paintings. With a series of reading rooms, a beautiful spiral staircase and a gallery, this building holds all the charm and atmosphere of a traditional 19th Century Library.

The library is still a functioning private library and tours are only available on specific ‘open event’ days but costs a minimal £5 for a history talk and guided tour. The Bromley House Library is a 16 minute walk from Jurys Inn and just around the corner from the Old Market Square.

Galleries of Justice Museum

Dive into the history of Nottingham’s crime and punishment system at the Galleries Of Justice Museum. Explore the court and gaol; enjoy a range of exciting exhibitions and performance-led tours which transport you back in time to bring Nottingham’s sinister and grim judicial background to life.

Tours are popular so booking is required if you don’t want to miss out. Depending on the tour, prices are around £9.50 for adults and £7.50 for children. Family tickets are also available. The Galleries of Justice Museum is located a 10 minute walk from Jurys Inn Nottingham.

Green’s Windmill

Climb the stairs of history in this beautiful Windmill. Green’s Windmill was built in 1807 by the father of ‘notable’ scientist and mathematician George Green. The windmill is situated high on a ridge offering fantastic views of Nottingham and the River Trent. The Windmill is fully functioning and produces organic flour available to buy.

The mill also offers interactive ‘hands on’ experiments and problem solving for younger visitors as well as tours and a children’s playground (outside). Learn something new, enjoy a unique experience, and, if travelling with children, sit back and let the kids explore, learn and develop on a fun day out.

Green’s Windmill is a 15 minute walk from Jurys Inn Nottingham and is open Wednesday to Sunday 10-4 with free admission.
