Jurys Inn Newcastle unveils stylish new look with £1.5 million makeover

Jurys Inn Newcastle’s refurbishment programme is now complete following a twelve month £1.5m makeover at the Scotswood Road hotel.  The 274 bedroom hotel is the latest Jurys Inn property to unveil its new look, demonstrating the group’s continued investment in the city, following the opening of Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays on South Shore Road in August 2011. 

The refurbishment marks the hotel’s tenth anniversary since opening in 2003, with all bedrooms comprising darker wood furnishings and warmer fabrics.  All nine meeting rooms and public areas, including the bar and restaurant, have been refurbished and now boast a stylish contemporary look.

Local, interior design company Dakota, based in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne worked on the project and were tasked with creating warmer, more intimate areas within the foyer, bar and restaurant areas.  The use of bold and vibrant colours visually create cozy corners with textured upholstery in blues and yellows in the bar area.  Voile partitions, soft yellow and grey striped upholstery as well as some private booths in the restaurant provide guests with a more atmospheric dining experience.  Newcastle based photographer Mark Slater was commissioned to provide the prints for the newly designed hotel foyer, adding a touch of local flavour.

Jurys Meetings inclusive day delegate rates include the cost of room hire, AV equipment, unlimited tea and coffee, WiFi, wired internet service, stationery toolkit and lunch.  And, a team of dedicated Jurys Meetings staff will provide a seamless experience from booking through to managing the event on the day.

The Newcastle upgrade comes as part of a wider refurbishment programme across the Jurys Inn group with over 1005 bedrooms and public areas having already received a complete makeover in 2012.  Jurys Inn has earmarked a total spend of £25 million for projects through 2012 and up to the end of 2014 as part of an on-going refurbishment programme, which has also seen a number of hotels refurbished in 2011.  The overall investment focuses primarily on refurbishments however, it also includes some IT and systems spend which will provide guests with improved comfort and facilities.
