Staff from the new Jurys Inn Derby hotel, opening this Friday 19 June 2009, were scattered across the city on Friday last week in search of Derby’s hot spots and historical locations as part of a citywide treasure hunt.
More than 30 staff were divided into teams of five to participate in the team building exercise so they could learn more about the city and meet with locals. When the first guests arrive on Friday the team will be able to make recommendations on great places to visit Derby and point visitors in the right direction.
Stella Birks was only too pleased to offer support: “The new hotel is a great addition to Derby and organising the treasure hunt was an excellent way of familiarising the Jurys Inn Derby staff with many of the highlights the city has to offer.”
Rachel Strange, General Manager of Jurys Inn Derby comments:
“The treasure hunt was great fun and was a fantastic way for the team to get to know each other before we open our doors this week. While the vast majority of employees are local, it’s important that they see the area from a visitor’s perspective to help ensure that all our guests have a fantastic stay.”
Jurys Inns hotel in Derby is part of an impressive rollout for the Jurys Inns group, which launches six new hotels in 2009 and a further three in 2010. The Jurys Inns new launch programme highlights the consumer demand for premium budget accommodation, offering a great service and warm welcome.
