The Changemakers Awards for the Top Employers of Young People - Jurys Inn are Highly Commended

Earlier this year, Changemakers, who are a charity devoted to the interests of young people, launched their awards
for the Top Employers of Young People. The awards recognise and celebrate employers who value, develop and recognise their young employees.

These awards will reach beyond the realms of other awards which focus purely on graduate employers, and instead recognise organisations which employ young people from a variety of backgrounds and with different levels of qualifications and experience.

Applicants were invited to demonstrate the role that young people have in management and leadership positions within their organisation, the development and progression opportunities for young people, and the ways in which recruitment takes into account values, attitudes and behaviours of young people, not just experience.

Jurys Inn has been highly commended for its ability to nurture talent and create an ambitious workforce. The judges were impressed that Jurys Inn’s culture focuses on developing individual employees through asking them to try different roles and giving them opportunities to step up. In addition they felt that the GROW programme is an excellent initiative that has clearly enabled talented individuals to reach senior positions quickly. The nurturing approach which is strongly evident within the organisation challenges employees to reach their potential and demonstrates a commitment to investing in their long term personal development.
