Cork is Ireland’s second largest city and is always ready to provide its residents and visitors with modern and traditional musical events. Be sure to catch the following music events in Cork during the month of September:

East Cork Early Music Festival

From the 16th to the 19th of September, the East Cork Early Music Festival will be in full swing at the following locations and events:

Sept. 17 An Audience with Sarah Dunant at the Glucksman Gallery. The Irish Baroque Orchestra, 8:00 PM at the Curtis Auditorium. The Flautadors, 3:30 PM at the Stack Theatre.

Sept. 18 Angels and Devils, 8:00 PM at the Curtis Auditorium Passion and Division by Susanne Heinrich, 1:00 PM at the Fota House. Student performances, festival activities and farmers’ market, 2:00 PM at the Fota house. Elegance and Endurance by Smaointe Taitneamhach, 1:00 PM at Christchurch and Rushbrooke. Sacred Hearts, Secret Music, 4:00 PM at St Colman’s Cathedral.

Modern Live Music Events

Cork’s top bars and music halls will be hosting a variety of modern music events. They include:

Sept. 22nd – Legendary punk poet John Cooper Clarke performs at the Pavilion. 20 GBP entry fee. Sept. 23rd – Celebrate Arthur Guinness day 2010 with a host of guest acts at the Old Oak and the Pavilion. 5 GBP entry fee. Sept 30th – Well known US grunge band Mudhoney continues its UK tour with a stop at Cyprus Avenue. 16 GBP entry fee. Sept 30th – DJ Shadow brings his eclectic instrumental hip hop and breakbeat sounds to the Savoy Theatre.
