The Beatlemania exhibition in the Czech Museum of Music first opened on June 4th, 2010. Its enormous success among visitors has extended its stay until April 6th, 2011.

The Beatlemania exhibit takes a retrospective look at the success of The Beatles during the height of their popularity in the 1960s. The exhibition's showings are intertwined with a secondary storyline outlining the influence of The Beatles on 1960s Czechoslovakian culture. To pull off an immersive and interactive experience, the exhibition uses a wide range of official memorabilia along with unofficial Beatlemania cultural pieces created by fans and artists of the 1960s.

Items such as George Harrison's banjo and a well-worn John Lennon shoe can be viewed in all of their strange glory alongside the first gramophone Beatles disc licensed for Czechoslovakia. The exhibition pays close attention to how the Prague youth counter-culture behind the Soviet Iron Curtain was influenced by the Liverpool-based band. Unique tribute pieces, informative montages and interactive features help provide visitors with an understanding of the musical and cultural significance that The Beatles had in Czechoslovakia and throughout the world.

Intimate looks at the sometimes controversial attitudes of all four band members - John, Paul, Ringo and George - are explored as part of this exhibition. The Czech Museum of Music's exhibition also includes a partial yellow submarine installation and the famous original 1964 wax sculptures of The Beatles.
