Music and Comedy Events at Belfast Waterfront April 2011 Apr 05
Email a Friend

Having hosted over 3,000 entertainment events since opening in 1997, Belfast Waterfront is one of Belfast's premier venues for quality music and comedy events. April 2011 is set to continue this legacy of great entertainment, as several well known acts are scheduled to perform at the venue. Anyone who plans on being in Belfast this April will not want to miss what Belfast Waterfront has to offer.

British-Irish comedian Jimmy Carr is set to kick off April at Belfast Waterfront with his solo show, Laughter Therapy, currently scheduled for April 1st through the 3rd. Only for those over the age of 16, Jimmy Carr's Laughter Therapy is billed as appealing to those with sick senses of humour. Carr has hosted several programs for Channel 4, such as Your Face or Mine? and Distraction. Carr also hosted an American version of Distraction for comedy central. Carr has won several comedy awards, including the Best Stand Up Award from Time Out in 2002 and the Best On-Screen Newcomer award from the Royal Television Society in 2003. Although he might offend particularly sensitive individuals, all others are encouraged to attend one of Belfast's best comedy events this year. Comedian Ed Byrne will hit Belfast Waterfront's Magners Pear Waterfront Comedy Club on April 14th as part of his Crowd Pleaser comedy tour. Hailing from Ireland, Byrne is a Perrier Award nominee. Now known as the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, the Perrier Awards are typically considered the most prestigious comedy awards in the United Kingdom. Byrne has also worked as an actor and voiceover artist, appearing in such films as Zemanovaload. His show at Belfast Waterfront is only for comedy fans age 16 and over and will cover such topics as fatherhood, religion and cake.

Belfast Waterfront is likely to be the best venue for comedy in April of 2011. Both tourists and Belfast residents who like to laugh should be sure to attend one of Belfast Waterfront's comedy shows.
