Are you ready for some gut- busting laughter? The Birmingham Comedy Festival is coming once again this year from Friday 7 October to Sunday 16 October 2011.This year marks the tenth anniversary of the popular festival. This year promises to be just as exciting as the last nine with the wonderful acts that are lined up.

The festival started in 2001 with a debut act from Peter Kay and Sean Lock. To date the festival will have new entertainment, including A-list comedians such as Frankie Boyle, Lee Evans, Michael McIntrye, the cast of cult TV sketch series" The Fast Show" and Ross Noble.

The Comedy Festival is unique in that it is a not for profit event. They work directly with the venues and other organization to obtain this stellar event. All workers are volunteers and just out for fun not a paycheck. This year promises to be entertaining and funny. It will be filled with iprov, stand-up, video, magic and cabaret. Some of the star attractions include appearances by Stephen Merchant, Russell Cane, Patrick Monahan, Ms. Barbara Nice and several other top-billing acts. There will be a showing of "The West Side Story" and magic from The Panto Girls. The critically-acclaimed "Legally Blonde: The Musical" will also be showcased. For comic nostalgia, black and white presentations of the comedy team "Laurel and Hardy" is also going to be showcased.

Be sure to download a complete schedule of each daily/evening performance. Every act has separate tickets with various prices; however, package deals are available through event ticket outlets. If laughter is the best medicine, then the Birmingham Comedy Festival is sure to be a virtual pharmacy. Not only does everyone get to have a good time, but the artists and performers are donating their time and talents for worthy charities. It is certainly worth the trip to Birmingham!
