Things to do in Liverpool

For a little extra inspiration, we’ve put together a list of our top things to see and do in Liverpool. After all, even if you’ve visited the city before, there’s always lots more to discover.

Liverpool Playhouse
Starting life as the Star Music Hall in 1866, Liverpool Playhouse is now one of the most prestigious theatres in the North West. Just 16 minutes away from the hotel on foot, the Playhouse is the perfect place to go for evening entertainment during your stay in the city.

St. Georges Hall
One of the most impressive neoclassical buildings in the world, St George’s Hall is a vibrant cultural and community hub with events taking place throughout the year. The Hall is just 19 minutes away from Jurys Inn Liverpool on foot, and five minutes from Liverpool Playhouse.

We recommend: visiting the heritage centre to find out more about the hall’s interesting history.

The Cavern Club
The Beatles were discovered at The Cavern Club, making it one of the UK’s most iconic live music venues and a must-visit for tourists in Liverpool. Filled with Beatles memorabilia, make sure you go and enjoy a drink or see a show at this quirky underground club.

We recommend: watching the resident Beatles tribute band, Made in Liverpool

The Beatles Story
If you’re a Beatles fan, The Beatles Story is an unmissable attraction in Liverpool. As the largest permanent exhibition devoted to the band, the award-winning museum is popular with tourists from all corners of the globe.

We recommend: hosting a business meeting with a difference at the Fab4 Cafe.

World Museum
From Egyptian Mummies to the Planetarium, Liverpool’s World Museum is a treasure-trove of artefacts and treasures. If you’re visiting the city with children, they’ll love exploring the World Museum’s exhibits, making it the perfect place for an afternoon of indoor fun.

We recommend: getting up-close to creepy crawlies at the bug house.

Anfield Stadium
If you’re a football fan, make sure you pay a visit to Liverpool FC’s iconic stadium, Anfield. On the stadium tour you can see the player’s dressing rooms, the media and press areas and The Steven Gerrard Collection.

We recommend: combining your visit with a look around the club’s interactive museum, The Liverpool FC Story.

Liverpool ONE
For high street shopping, restaurants, adventure golf and even an IMAX cinema, Liverpool ONE is a cutting edge centre for retail and leisure with something for everyone to enjoy. On warm sunny days, neighbouring Chavasse Park is a lovely place to unwind with a picnic before shopping until you drop.

We recommend: picking up a leaflet from the information centre and taking the little ones on the nature trail

If you’re keen to explore beyond the city, there are lots of great places to see just a short drive or train journey away from Liverpool. Here are a few of our favourites.
