How to find our hotel in Birmingham

Our hotel is well located and close to all key transport links in Birmingham. Parking Information

Paid parking is available at the hotel's onsite car park, which has 200 parking spaces. Please note that the hotel’s postcode is B1 2HQ, though in order to access the car park on Berkley Street, please use the postcode B1 2LF. The cost per 24 hours is £16.50. There is a height restriction of 1.7m. The following tariffs apply:


Up to 1 hour: £2.50
Up to 2 hours: £4.00
Up to 3 hours: £5.00
4 to 6 hours: £8.00
7 to 10 hours: £11.50
11 to 24 hours: £16.50

Please note: Charges will apply up to 30 minutes past the hour after which, the charge goes to the next price point. For example; if parked up to one hour thirty minutes, the charge is £2.50. If parked for one hour thirty-one minutes the charge is £4.00. There is a hight restriction of 1.7m in the multistorey car park. Parking cannot be pre booked in advance. The hotel does not accept liability or responsibility for any damages caused to vehicles whist using the car park. 

The nearest public car park is 4 min walk away at Brindley Place. It is opened 24 hours and the cost is £20.00 for 24 hours.

Birmingham Clean Air Zone


From June 2021, the Birmingham Clean Air Zone (CAZ) comes into effect and will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is designed to reduce vehicle emissions inside the city centre. Leave the M5 at Junction 3 and travel towards Birmingham City Centre along the A456 (Hagley Road) for 5 miles to the Five Ways Island. This is easily distinguishable as it is surrounded by large office blocks and a Morrison’s store.

Use the roundabout at this island and take the 3rd exit onto Islington Row Middleway, take the 2nd left onto Bath Row. Continue along Bath Row until you reach a Tesco Express on the left-hand side of the road, turning left onto Granville St. Proceed along Granville St until you reach a roundabout & take the 3rd exit, at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Gas St. Follow Gas St around to Broad St, where the hotel will be just ahead of you on the left.

From the airport take the M42 southbound and exit for the M6 north. Leave the M6 at Junction 6 and follow the A38(M). Follow signs to “City centre, Bromsgrove (A38)”. Do not take any exit to left. Go over 1 flyover and through 2 Queensway underpass tunnels. On exiting the 2nd underpass tunnel, keep in the left hand lane, indicate left and go down the parallel running slip road to the Holloway Circus Island where you take the 4th exit (Bristol St/A38) continue straight and take 2nd left turn onto Holliday St/A456.

Drive along Holliday St/A456 and at the roundabout takes the 3rd exit, turning onto Gas St. Follow Gas St around to Broad St, where the hotel will be just ahead of you on the left.

Arrive on the M42 and travel west towards the M5. Travel north on the M5 leaving at Junction 3. (Read directions “From M5 South-West”) From M42 East Midlands Join the M6 heading towards Birmingham Central and leave the M6 at Junction 6. (Read directions “From M6 South or North-West”) From the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Follow the A45 (Coventry Road) towards the city centre for about 6 miles. At the major island just after the large Citroen Showroom, take the first exit following signs for M5, NIA and Convention Centre.

Travel along a short stretch of dual carriageway (Bordesley Middleway) for about 500m and at the next island go straight ahead (2nd exit), again following signs to NIA and Convention Centre.

On coming to the next island just after PC World, take the 3rd exit, still following signs to the NIA and Convention Centre. Continue along a straight stretch of dual carriageway (A4540) keeping in the middle or right hand lane.

Go through the underpass ascending up to the Five Ways Island. Go around this island back onto Islington Row Middleway, take the 2nd left onto Bath Row. Fares in Birmingham are reasonably priced with combined bus, train tickets available. There is a large section on public transport on the Birmingham City Council website that you might find helpful. The nearest bus stops to Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham are:

To get to our hotel from the airport you can get a train from Birmingham International to Birmingham New Street. From there it is a 10-minute walk to the hotel. The nearest train stations are:

  • Birmingham New Street (10 minute walk, currently an 18 minute walk due to roadworks)
  • Birmingham Snow Hill (12 minute walk, currently a 20 minute walk due to roadworks)
  • Birmingham Moor Street (15 minute walk, currently a 20 minute walk due to roadworks)
