Titanic’s Dock and Pump-House
Explore Titanic’s Dock and Pump-House and immerse yourself in the grandeur and overwhelming size of the ‘largest moving object ever constructed by the hand of man.’ The Titanic was ground-breaking, decadent, and luxurious but ultimately infamous for its disastrous end.
Now, just over 100 years after its maiden and only voyage, you can visit the dry dock where she spent her last days in preparation for journey and explore the beautifully preserved pump-house containing the original engineering works. In 1912, Titanic was the most innovative and awe-inspiring object ever created and this site offers a fantastic opportunity to step back in time and understand the sheer magnitude of the iconic vessel.
Crumlin Road Gaol
Until its closure in 1996, Crumlin Road Gaol was the oldest working prison in Northern Ireland. Now, after a major restoration to the unique Grade A listed building, Crumlin Road Gaol is now open to the public and well worth a visit. Dating back to 1845, this gaol is bursting at the seams with rich Irish history, and as you take a guided tour around the site, you will embark on a historical journey of political segregation and loyalist prisoners.
Tickets are available on the day but booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Crumlin Road Gaol is a 25 minute walk from Jurys Inn Belfast and sits opposite the stunning neo-classical designed Grade A listed building, Crumlin Road Courthouse.
