There are about 600 pubs and bars in the city of Dublin. No visit to Dublin would be complete without experiencing the local lively pubs where you will always receive a warm welcome. A couple of facts about Dublin pubs are that the alcohol there is somewhat expensive, about €5 for a pint of stout or lager. Pubs tends to be more expensive near the tourist areas of Dublin, however if you venture into the more traditional pubs you will find it gets cheaper. Fibbeer McGees, just off Parnell Square, is a heavy metal bar that plays the loudest music and sells the cheapest drinks in the city. O’Reillys on Tara Street is also a good place to get a beer at a reasonable price, as are suburb bars like the Cock Tavern in Swords, a village north of Dublin.
A popular spot in Dublin is “Temple Bar” which refers to an area in the city centre famous for its cobbled streets, talented street performers and lively pubs. Although the name “Temple Bar” refers to the district there is a bar named “Temple Bar” located there – a popular spot for rugby and football matches.
