We’ve had a range of submissions of your beloved canine friends in their adorable doggy Christmas outfits, so we’ve pulled them all together for you to enjoy! Two of our submissions come from our Galway hotel’s local rescue centre, Heathlawn Animal Sanctuary. Please do take a look at how you can help Galway SPCA abandoned dogs and always remember that a dog is for life and not just for Christmas! Without further ado, explore below the adorable doggy Christmas outfits of your much loved pets…

Alfie

Alfie
Our first model to the catwalk is Alfie, a male Spaniel/Poodle (Spoodle) showing us his glorious red and white candy cane hat, along with a beautifully patterned red and white jumper to match, complete with reindeer pictures woven in.

Archie

Our next model is Archie, a glamorous male Labrador who has opted for a couple of different poses to display his high-fashion Xmas jumper from multiple angles. This lovely red and white striped jumper looks fantastic with its cartoon Santa face patch.

Coco

Coco
This female Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Coco, has adopted a striking pose worthy of her possible namesake, French fashion designer, Coco Chanel. This fabulous blue penguin jumper is style personified, and she wears it so well…
Sent in by Rachel, Lee, and the Weston children.

Goliath

Goliath
Goliath

The aptly named ‘Goliath’ is a male Chihuahua who apparently shops at the same store as Archie the Labrador. No matter, we’re happy to see what the jumper looks like on a size zero too… however there might be some issues at the after party when the champagne is flowing and they both realise they’ve turned up in the same outfits.

Jack

Jack
Next on the catwalk is Jack, a male Border Terrier cross. Jack is delighted to show the audience his daring (and cute) reindeer head piece.

Milo

Milo
And here we have Milo, a male ‘Pocket Sized Jack Russell’ displaying the full winter range, including his colourful jumper, elegant coat, and matching woolly hat and scarf. Note how Milo wears his hat stylishly ‘to-the-side’...a true trend–setter. Sent in by Joe, CJ, and Charlie

Pepsi Tops

Oliver

Sporting a velvety Santa’s jacket and red reindeer ears, Pepsi Top is an 11 year old Greyhound rescued 6 months ago by the Heathlawn Animal Sanctuary. He spent most of his life in Greyhound racing kennels and then as a breeder, he now lives with Emma, one of the volunteers of the GSPCA.

Scooby

Oliver

This Jack Russell is keen to show off his lovely snowflake Christmas jumper. Scooby Laurence is ready at the door and prepped to catwalk down the everyday dog’s runway, the street.

Scrappy

Oliver

One of our more experienced models takes to the catwalk in his lovely black and red lined jumper, complete with Xmas tree and stars, Scrappy is a male Border Terrier cross Jack Russell… suspicions are that before starting his modelling career, his former identity is that of the famous, courageous Scrappy Doo, son of Scooby.

Oliver, aka Victor Meldrew

Oliver

Oliver
Oliver

And last but not least, our most famous of models who really needs no introduction, is Oliver, aka Victor Meldrew.

Oliver is a 12/13yrs old male who was rescued in July and was found lying in a roadside ditch in poor condition. He has since gone to live with Emma, one of the volunteers of Galway SPCA and her gang of 5 dogs. Oliver is adorable but very grumpy and set in his ways..... a true Victor Meldrew (One Foot in the Grave) - Oliver only does what Oliver wants and sulks for hours if he’s made to do something against his will. He was a real champ and donned his Christmas Jumper for the camera in true Victor Meldrew style!

There are many abandoned dogs like Oliver still in need of a home, take a look at Heathlawn Animal Sanctuary for information on dog adoption.

And let’s all remember, dogs are for life, not just for Christmas.

Do you have an image to share of your dog in their Christmas outfit? Let us know! We’d love to see more images and we’ll add them to this post.
