To celebrate the rebranding of 35 of our hotels we are offering one lucky Leo a complimentary two -night stay for you and a friend at a Leonardo hotel of your choice.

If that wasn’t enough, the winner will also receive a luxury hamper full of local treats on the first night of their stay to enjoy.

To enter the competition, all you have to do is prove you are a Leo by entering your date of birth in the form at the bottom of the page, along with your full name and contact details to be entered into the draw.

Along with the competition we have collaborated with astrologist Sally Kirkman to reveal hotel etiquette of the star signs. Are Aries more likely to indulge in room service? Do Gemini’s make the most mess? Are Leo’s most likely to pocket the freebies?  We reveal all.

Your typical Aries is loud and bold, charging through life at top speed. They arrive to their hotel at whatever time they like and rarely stick to the rules. Aries want to experience life head-on and aren’t usually bothered with pleasing others. That’s not to say they’re not friendly and fun but they do tend to bang doors and leap around excitedly. If you want them, they’ll be in the hotel gym, and they always pack a yoga mat or roller blades. The whirlwind pace they live at means their hotel room will rarely be tidy and staff may have a lot of clearing up to do. When it comes to hotel interior, red is Aries’ colour. They prefer a bold and bright decor. No fussy knick-knacks and they love grown-up toys and gadgets.

Leo’s are the star sign that want to be treated like a celebrity. They arrive fashionably late and expect the best 5-star service. They will be lavish with their tipping and generosity, as long as their every need is provided. They live a glitz and glam lifestyle so always pack their fake tan as well as their favourite perfume. But the glamour doesn’t stop there, you will find a Leo sipping a glass of champagne at the hotel bar and only ordering the most expensive option from room service. The more bling in the room, the better. Gold is the colour attributed to a Leo and they love bright colours like the sun including yellow and orange. A four-poster bed and a classic statue would satisfy their high standards. Leo’s tend to be bossy and dramatic. If anyone’s going to throw a party in their hotel room, look no further than the star sign who loves to be centre of attention.

A Sagittarius is the star sign most likely to bounce into the hotel, with their big personalities they’ll have the reception staff laughing uproariously in no time. Sagittarius’s arrive to the hotel just when the parties started, and their primary aim is to enjoy themselves and have the best time possible wherever they are. They will home in on the guests who like to have fun, with a lager at the bar and a classic order of burger and chips for room service. They are the hotel guest most likely to stage an impromptu party in their room, and always pack a poker set or guitar to get the party started. Sagittarius’s want a hotel room to be comfortable and lived in, and love rooms with a lot of space so they can move around, dance, do yoga and invite their friends for a drink.

Cancer is the star sign ruled by the Moon and home is a safe harbour. If a Cancer can get home to their own bed rather than stay in a hotel, that might be their number one preference. They will treat any hotel room as if it’s their own home, bringing along their own pillow or photos of loved ones. Cancer’s love a cosy hotel room and appreciate throws, cushions and a comfy bed. Their colours are white and silver, like the Moon, and a blue decor is soothing to them. They always arrive early and don’t mind waiting until their room is ready. They quietly sip a glass of white wine while waiting and order a home cooked dish and pudding for room service. Caring is their forte and helpful hotel staff will receive a warm embrace and compliment. They are, however, more likely to offer kindness and empathy than a big tip.

Dark glasses and an air of mystery after dark is Scorpio’s preferred mode of arrival. They may sign in under a pseudonym and will expect you to keep their details and their car private. They’re unlikely to reveal too much but will be a silent and unobtrusive guest in return. They won’t engage in superficial small talk with the staff and can be fearless yet scary in their communications. You will find them at the bar with a whisky in hand and their head burrowed into the latest crime novel which they always bring with them. Their preferred room style includes all things dark and hidden. A hotel boudoir in dark reds and heavy satin materials with low lighting make the perfect setting for indulging in their room service order of red meat and dark chocolate.

Pisces is the romantic and dreamer of the zodiacs and will probably turn up late, sweep in beautifully and win over the hotel staff in minutes. They love old-style glamour, sipping on a gin and tonic at the hotel bar and will expect the full luxury hotel treatment. A concierge, a bell-boy, a drinks waiter etc. If staff treat Pisces well, they’ll be the perfect hotel guest in return. A seafood platter is their go to room service order, and they love living in fantasy land. The more grandeur you give them, the more they’ll swoon. A romantic decor is their dream hotel interior, with huge floral curtains, soft curves, plenty of cushions and definitely flowers. A Pisces loves the colours of the sea so shades of blues, light greys and greens. A roll-top bath is their idea of heaven, and they always pack some candles and spa treatments to make the most of their stay.

Reliable and steadfast, Taurus could be the ideal hotel guest. They turn up when they say they will, remain calm and collected and will be polite throughout their stay - as long as everything goes according to plan, as they don’t like surprises. Their zodiac symbol is the bull and they can rage if pushed. Taurus appreciates value for money and is an indulgent sensualist - they’ll try out the spa, explore outdoors and make use of all the towels and hotel robes. They always pack a onesie or their favourite teddy bear and order a comforting hot chocolate at the bar and for room service a jacket potato or anything that comes with chips. A typical Taurus favours an old-style hotel room with traditional features, wood paneling, nothing too modern. They love the colours of the countryside, think browns, greens and earthy hues.

Virgos tend to be polite and reserved and are unlikely to cause any trouble or offence. They arrive on time and always pack a good book or their favourite tea. A meticulous star sign, they’ll notice straightaway if anything is out of place or not functioning. They’ll be the first to report it too. Cleanliness is a virtue in Virgo’s eyes and they always make sure their room is pristine. If all goes well with their visit, you may not even notice they’d been staying with you at all. They order sparkling water at the bar and munch on the veggie or vegan options from room service. They prefer a tastefully-decorated room, neither offensive nor gaudy. Subtle colours including beige and cream, and they have an eye for detail and love anything that relates to symmetry.

Capricorn is the most respectful and dignified sign of the zodiac. They appreciate status and formalities and will want to abide by the rules of the hotel. They arrive at whatever time they are asked and bring along their business card or a monogrammed shirt. They always dress up for an occasion and favour suits and smart clothes above anything casual. They like to keep to a busy schedule and will want to make use of the conference room, the executive restaurant and the gym.

Capricorn is the star sign linked to history and tradition and they favour antique furniture over anything modern. Natural materials like wood, leather and stone with colours including brown, grey and navy blue. Sticking to traditions, Capricorns are more likely to order a roast dinner from room service washed down with a large glass of red.

Gemini is your classic fly-by-night hotel guest but charming nonetheless. They arrive hideously late and sweet talk their way into the hotel staff’s good books. They’re light on their toes and can be light-fingered too. If anyone is likely to take home a hotel room souvenir, it’s probably Gemini. They prefer noise to quiet and solitude and could keep other guests up until the early hours if they’re talking with their companions. They pack an eReader and order finger food or tapas from room service. If they’re visiting the hotel alone, you’ll find them in the hotel bar making friends. Gemini’s love a quirky hotel. The quirkier the better. They’ll notice the little touches, the ornaments, the cute messages and will read the hotel guide from cover to cover. Light, bright spring colours suit their versatile and easy temperament.

Libra loves to please, and they’ll be extra polite and charming as soon as they arrive. Libra’s are the star sign who are most likely to get a hotel room upgrade. They arrive not too early, but not too late. They have excellent social etiquette and will look and smell divine as they waltz into the hotel. Libra’s don’t like to travel alone so you can expect them to bring along a guest, as well as their favourite floral robe. Libra’s have great appreciation for the finer things in life and will let you know what they love. They favour a stylish hotel room and appreciate pretty touches and tasteful decoration. Pastel colours suit their balanced nature and everything must be easy on the eye. You can find a Libra ordering a fancy cocktail or sparkling wine from the hotel bar and heading up to the room to order an afternoon tea or their preferred sushi. They always fill in the visitor’s book and may leave a charming thank you card if they enjoyed their stay.

Aquarius can be a geek or a hippy or somewhere in-between. They turn up whenever they please and may look eccentrically dressed strolling into the hotel but they have a genius brain. They’re ahead of the time and will fawn over your latest technology. Aquarius’s are not impressed by status and are more likely to favour a bohemian or community hotel. The more unusual the better is their preferred hotel taste, a space age themed room, modern neon colours, stainless steel or metal. While their taste in décor is more extravagant, Aquarius will order a vodka from the hotel bar and sometimes even a simple fizzy drink. Aquarius loves anything kitsch and quirky, weird and wonderful objects that are a talking point. They love to order the weirdest items on the room service menu and always pack their wireless headphones or latest computer games.
