The long stretch of the King's Road in Chelsea, - filled with its high-end shops, colourful houses and parked up Porsches - doesn't exactly scream culinary hub of the capital so it's easy to forget the few gems it does have. However, one of my go-to restaurants that I recommend to friends time and time again is Chicama.

Named after a small town on the coast of Peru, Chicama offers a menu bursting with flavour; inspired by Peruvian-coastal cuisine and following a no meat approach. Instead, seafood and seasonal vegetables are at the heart of the offering and will have even the most hardcore carnivores impressed.

Chicama’s interior is particularly photogenic with its pink floor tiles, a gorgeous marble counter, salvaged wood furniture and a scattering of hanging plants. Once you’ve got a cocktail in hand, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a beach hut overlooking the South Pacific.

As for the food itself, the menu has been designed with sharing in mind, offering up a number of small plates rather than one main. I love this style of food as it allows you the opportunity to taste more dishes and trust me, with this menu, you’ll be wanting to try it all! Each dish is beautifully presented and served on the most gorgeous pastel ceramic plates that I am longing to have for my own home. I would happily eat most of the dishes again and again - but the ones that really stand out to me are the Tapioca Marshmallows (I still have no idea really what they are - but honestly, they're marvellous and you're going to love them) followed by the Blackened Octopus and Tuna Tostada. Make sure you still have room left for the chocolate mousse – it’s simply divine!

From the creative and delicious Peruvian menu to the Instagrammable interior, you’re sure to love everything about Chicama.
