Mulled Wine

A classic! As winter starts closing in, this is the perfect ‘warm-your-heart’ drink to give you that autumn feeling. With a sweet blend of cinnamon, honey, vanilla, cloves, star anise and citrus, you can watch the autumn leaves fall with the perfect mulled wine.

Ingredients: 1 Bottle Red Wine 60ml Brandy (optional) 720ml Apple Cider (sweetened/unsweetened, own preference) 90ml Honey 4 Cinnamon Sticks 1 Vanilla Bean, cut lengthwise 1 tsp Cloves 3 Star Anise 200g Chopped Citrus (variety)

Method: In a large pot on low-medium heat, bring wine, brandy, apple cider and honey to a low boil. Add the cinnamon, vanilla bean, cloves and star anise. Turn down the temperature to low, and simmer for 30 minutes.

Just before serving add the chopped citrus. Add a cinnamon stick and some chopped fruit to each glass (optional). Leave on the stove for several hours and enjoy all evening!

Have some left over? No problem - just refrigerate and reheat the next day!

Berry Scary Martini

Who said Halloween was just for kids? Once the candy swapping is over, add a little fright to the evening with this deliciously dark cocktail.

Ingredients: 1 cup Ice 30ml Black Vodka 60ml Cherry Juice     Fresh raspberries and blueberries, for garnish

Method: Combine ice, vodka and cherry juice in a cocktail shaker; shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass. For garnish, thread raspberries and blueberries onto a cocktail skewer and place in drink. Serve immediately.

Give Thanksgiving an old fashioned twist with this simple mix of bourbon and Grand Marnier with pumpkin puree and maple syrup!

Ingredients 45g bourbon whiskey 15ml Grand Marnier 2 tbsp pumpkin puree 30ml maple syrup Orange peel or rind for garnish

Method: Combine pumpkin puree, bourbon, syrup, Grand Marnier and bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice. Finally garnish with orange peel.

What’s Guy Fawkes Night without a few Sparkler’s? The fireworks won’t be the only things popping with this champagne unfused cocktail.

Ingredients: 25ml Tequila 50ml Champagne 125ml Strawberry Liqueur 125ml Elderflower Liqueur

Method: Combine the tequila with the strawberry liqueur and elderflower liqueur, and pour into the bottom of a champagne flute. Simply top with a dash of champagne!

Hot Spiced Buttered Rum

Cosy up in front of an open fire with this seriously delicious hot toddy that will keep you going through the sweater weather. This cocktail is ‘sugar, spice and everything nice’

Ingredients: 1 tsp light brown sugar ¼ tsp finely minced lemon rind 3 pinches of cinnamon Pinch of ground cloves Pinch of nutmeg Golden rum Boiling water 1 Generous tsp unsalted butter

Method: Rinse your mug of choice with boiling water, then put the light brown sugar, the lemon rind, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Pour in the rum, fill the mug with boiling water. Finally drop in the butter.
