The CAMRA Liverpool Beer Festival is a celebration of real ale, produced by local and national breweries alike. CAMRA is a nationally successful campaign on the behalf of pub and drinkers interested in preserving and promoting the production of real ale. Over several decades, CAMRA has grown into an organization with over 100,000 members. This has made it one of the most successful beer-related consumer group organizations in Europe.

The Liverpool district of CAMRA represents Merseyside and operates in cooperation with the nearby branches of Southport, Wirral and St. Helens. CAMRA Liverpool hosts the city’s largest beer festival, which will take place this year from February 24h to the 26th.

Over 200 types of beers are made available thanks to the participation of 96 different breweries from throughout Europe, 11 of which are local Merseyside breweries. The festival also offers tastings of real ciders and perries along with supplemental snacks and wines. This celebration of real ale is held in the Crypt Hall of the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. The Crypt Hall was originally intended to be a haven for the Cathedral’s resident priests and followers, but turns host to hundreds of visitors and towers of cold kegs once a year. The Cathedral complex is located on the intersection of Hope Street and Mount Pleasant. A staircase and lift give access to the Crypt Hall from street level.

The festival is partitioned into five sessions:
Thursday, February 24th – 7 to 11 PM Friday, February 25th and Saturday, February 26th – 12 to 4 PM and 7 to 11 PM

Members of CAMRA receive first priority on tickets, which are put on sale at the Gibberd Room on Saturday, December 4th from 10 AM to 1 PM only. Each ticket session is priced at 7 Pounds and provides entry into The Crypt, a festival glass and a programme.
