Cork is the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland, and the third largest city on the Irish isle. Cork is known for rebelliousness, earning Cork County the nickname, Rebel County. Cork is an important Irish cultural center. Because of this, it draws many artistic performances including live music, art exhibits and theater. On November 13th, 2010, Bell X1 will perform at The Pavilion. Having released four critically acclaimed albums, Bell X1 is a renowned Irish rock band from County Kildare. The name Bell X1 comes from the aircraft Bell X1, which was the first supersonic jet in history. Bell X1's style has been described as warm, similar to that of the Talking Heads.

The Magic Numbers will perform in Cork on December 12th, 2010 at The Pavilion. The Magic Numbers are a successful English indie rock band comprised of two sets of brothers and sisters. They've released three critically acclaimed albums: The Magic Numbers, Those the Brokes and The Runaway. Their style is upbeat, and blends elements of folk and rock.

On December 15th, 2010, Villagers, a dark melodic indie band from Ireland, will play in Cork at Savoy. Villagers is the first Irish group to be signed by Domino Records. Their style has been described as sparse, tangibly cool and casually disheveled. Their first studio album, Becoming a Jackal, was nominated for the Mercury Prize in July, 2010. The New York Times compared Villagers to Leonard Cohen, U2 and The Frames.
