Brighton is a town located in Sussex on the south coast of Great Britain that has a population of just over 150,000. The annual Brooks Brighton 10K race that takes place in the town is one of the most famous long-distance races in all of England. The race regularly draws runners from all over the British Isles.

Event Information

The Brooks Brighton 10K race will take place on Sunday, November 21, 2010. The race starts on Madeira Drive in downtown Brighton and goes east towards the sea marina. Then, the route turns around and the runners go back past the start and continue past the downtown Palace and the West Piers. The route then takes the runners past the iconic Peace Memorial and then to the King Alfred Center. The race concludes along the sea marina, back on Madeira drive. The Brooks Brighton 10K starts at 10 a.m. Runners are required to be at the starting line by 9:50 a.m. The public is welcome to line the streets to view the race and cheer on the runners. There is no fee to watch the event. People planning to watch should arrive at their designated viewing area no later than 10 a.m.

Parking will be somewhat limited on the day of the race, but participants and viewers can park on Madeira Drive where available. The starting point for the race is about a 25-minute walk from the main metro station in downtown Brighton for people that wish to take public transit. The opportunity to register to run in the race has already passed. Participants must enter to run in the race at least two months in advance.
