Transition Extreme Outdoors Take yourself out of your comfort zone and try Transition Extreme’s high ropes course. It’s a fantastic family activity full of adventure and family team work! There are three activities that you can tackle -TX Trekking, Extreme drop (yes it’s exactly as it sounds), and zip wire and with various challenges and combo packages, there will be plenty to get stuck into!

The beach is a short 1 mile (21 minute walk) from Leonardo Hotel Aberdeen and defiantly worth visiting for the day. Enjoy a Sandy beach, a long promenade walk if you’re in the mood and plenty of places to eat along the waterfront, including Chiquito, TGI Friday’s, Pizza hut and The Pavilion Café. It’s the perfect way to enjoy your seaside holiday (weather permitting)!
On a gorgeous sunny day Codona’s Amusement Park is a great day out for the whole family. With three roller coasters, super dodgems, white water log flume, a haunted mansion and much more to explore, you will have trouble prying the kids away from this hub of excitement! Don’t forget to check out Codona’s Pirate Island Adventure Golf which has 18 holes, 25ft high volcano, a pirate ship, and bucket load of family fun!

Can’t hit the beach? Check out Aberdeen’s Beach Leisure Centre - it is a great place to take the kids for some swimming fun when it’s pouring with rain outside. From a wave machine, fountain and rapids to four exciting flumes, you children will not be short of fun things to do! There is a café for hungry tummy’s and Linx Ice Arena right next door.
The Beach Leisure Centre is a 23 minute walk from Leonardo Hotel Aberdeen or you can catch the 15 bus from stop F1 to Sea Beach stop. Beach Leisure Centre prices and timetable are dependent on time of the year and activities.
Transition Extreme is a fantastic place to visit and try something new! Transition has a climbing wall, which can be suitable for kids’ aged 5-7 during their ‘Fun Club’ on Saturdays and Sundays, or you can do a family taster session and all climb together. There is also a Skate park for the kids to entertain themselves on or, if your children have never skated before, Transition Extreme offers skating and BMX beginner lessons for 5 years and up.

Stratosphere Science Centre offers an exciting and educational day out. Scotland’s first science centre provides fantastic hands-on interactive exhibits and live shows to help visitors understand the world and how things work. The centre is a great way to get the kids engaged and curious about the way things work and hopefully ‘inspire the scientist within’. The centre also has a coffee house with a range of light bites and baked goods should hunger strike while exploring.
Stratosphere Science centre is open 7 days a week 10am-5pm. The Science centre is a 17 minute walk from Leonardo Hotel Aberdeen or you can take the 15 bus.
Codona’s Sunset Boulevard offers a fantastic range of entertaining indoor activities to keep the little’uns happy. The Sunset Boulevard has ten pin bowling, Smugglers cove Adventure play and restaurant, ‘XD’ theatre – 3D Motion ride, American Pool, Skydeck Super Dodgems, and much more. There is also The Congo Indoor Adventure Golf available for those wishing to get involved with some crazy golf whatever the weather.
