Drink some excellent coffee

The city is packed full of wonderful independent coffee shops and Tamper coffee is top of the list. Run by Kiwis, these guys know their coffee and you will not get a better flat white outside of New Zealand! As well as their Tamper house blend they have a variety of guest blends for you to try.  If like me, coffee is never enough, they have a small but perfectly formed menu and I would strongly recommend the French toast with Nutella and raspberries. I promise you, it will change your life!

Delve into the city’s outdoor art

Sheffield is famous for its street art and there are murals on display quite literally around every street corner.  The abundance of artwork is what makes this city so unique and vibrant; and it’s something that is treasured by residents of the Steel City. From edgy to cute, to just plain weird, there is such a variety of art that you will never get bored of seeking it out. I would strongly recommend a stroll around the city to see what you can spot. What’s more, it’s a great excuse to get lost and perhaps discover something unexpected.

Unwind in the Winter Garden

The Winter Garden is a little oasis of calm situated right in the heart of Sheffield. Full of exotic plants, it a great place to come if you want to take a half an hour out from the hustle and bustle of the city. As well as all of the impressive foliage (there are over 2000 species), there’s a café and a couple shops to browse too. You could pop in for a stroll around after visiting the Millennium Gallery, which you’ll find right next door.

Sink your teeth into street food

If you’re a street food fanatic, then look no further than The Great Gatsby on Division Street. This cute bar has a modestly sized menu of the yummiest Mexican food you could wish for. Choose from tacos, burritos or larger plates; whichever you go for, don’t miss out on a side order of their chili cheese fries as they’re delicious! In addition to all this yummy food, The Great Gatsby has a fantastic selection of beers to choose from, and an extensive cocktail menu if that’s more your kind of thing.
