Find a gem in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter

No prizes for guessing what the Jewellery Quarter is famous for. What you may not know is that while JQ offers a great shopping experience in Birmingham and is also one of the city’s best spots for bars and restaurants. Littered with the coolest independent traders from Otto to Thousand Trades, JQ boasts a cool bar or restaurant on almost every one of its elegant streets. If you like to share a cocktail in slightly more stylish surroundings, why not try Anna Rocha – it’s an antiques shop by day, but a swanky bar by night. Just don’t knock anything over!

Make the most of Moseley

Just a hop in an Uber or a short bus ride from the city centre lies the unique area that is Moseley. Famed for it’s arts scene and all things trendy, you can waste hours hopping from bar to bar and maybe grab some food in one of its many restaurants. Moseley is even more exciting to explore while the fortnightly arts markets are on, just make sure you bring a spare set of hands to carry home some real treasures.

More canals than Venice

Birmingham owes a lot to its canal network and its industrious past. That being said, long gone are the dirty coal fired factories and in their place are the bars and restaurants that make an evening wander along the canals a real treat! From the Mailbox in the heart of the city down to Digbeth, the canal network always seem to throw up an interesting view, a place to cool off in the Summer or a real beauty spot in the middle of the city during Winter. All year round they seem to provide something new and exciting to see and do, and they’re an Instagrammers dream.
