“Zveme vás na Praẑskỳ Jarmark”—“We invite you to the Prague Festival.” That’s probably what you’ll hear between the 25th and 30th of August in the great city of Prague.

The Praẑskỳ Jarmark is an annual international folklore festival held each summer, on Ovocný trh (the Fruit Market) in the centre of Prague between Na Prikope Street and Old Town Square, near Wencelas Square, the Powder Tower and Gate, and Prague’s Municipal House. Over 1200 artists from Columbia, Congo, New Zealand, Mexico, China, Israel, France, Algeria, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Cyprus, Slovenia and the Slovak Republic will participate in the festival.

Huge crowds tend to show up for the festival, so it is sure to be the best place to spend your vacation, and to enjoy a variety of art and music. Open between the hours of 4 and 10pm, tourists and Prague citizens alike are sure to be intrigued by the program at the Ovocný trh, but also by the numerous handicraft stalls, beer and wine stalls, and a variety of food offerings, including Old Bohemian Cake Trdelník, Bohemian pies, traditional grilled sausages and Moravian wine.

You’re sure to enjoy the folklore and cultures of many nations during this extraordinary event, unlike any other you’ll probably experience. While there, be sure to also get to know Prague, one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the entire world. The weather is great this time of year, with a high temperature of only 23 degrees C.

Since the fall of Communism, Prague has become one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations. It suffered a great less damage during World War II than many other major European cities, so many of its great and historic architecture fortunately are still intact. There are also some great museums and sights to visit while you’re enjoying the folklore presented during the Praẑskỳ Jarmark. If you would like to visit the festival to simply experience the city then why not check out the Leonardo Hotels range of hotels in Prague.
