Petrin Tower

Often referred to as the ‘little Eiffel Tower’ Petrin Tower seems similar to its Parisian bigger brother but doesn’t sit on four legs and instead the base melts into the building below. There are 299 steps to the top or for a little more money (around £1.50) you can take the lift.

The tower can be found an invigorating climb/walk up Petrin Park or via the Funicular that goes from the bottom of the hill close to the Ujezd tram stop. You'll need a full adult single ticket to travel, exiting close to the Stefanik Observatory where you can take in the views of Prague. Most tourists will combine a trip here with a visit to the Strahov Monastery/library just a short 20 minute walk between the two.

The trip to Petrin Toweris about 45 minutes on the metro from Florenc station, just a short walk from Leonardo Hotel Prague.

Prague Castle

Founded around 880 by prince Bo?ivoj of the Premyslid dynasty, Prague Castle is said to be the largest castle area in the world and is home to a collection of magnificent buildings covering over 18 acres. Found high above the city, visitors can walk up the old castle steps from Malostranská metro station and be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views of Prague – the castle is well worth visiting again at night to see the city lights, and the castle buildings, in particular the Cathedral of St Vitus, are beautifully lit up and the site has much fewer tourists.

During the day, the multiple building offer the history of the castle, artefacts, military displays, and more – you’ll need a good few hours to explore.

The Prague Castle is 23 minutes via the metro from Leonardo Hotel Prague.

Kampa Island

Get away from it all in the most romantic part of Prague, Kampa Island and it’s easy to see why. Announced the second most beautiful city island in the world, Kampa Island is filled with picturesque houses, cute little cafes, and an array of bars, dotted all along the riverfront and treating you to beautiful views of Prague’s most famous attractions including Prague Castle, St Vitus Cathedral and Charles Bridge. The other side offers views of the National Theatre.

Kampa Island is a leisurely half hour walk from Leonardo Hotel Prague, or you can get a boat along the river.
