Galway is one of the fastest growing cities in Ireland and is often referred to as Ireland's cultural heart. The city enjoys a long and rich cultural history and hosts a number of festivals every year. One of the culinary festival highlights of the year is the Oyster Festival in Galway.
Galway Oyster Festival The
Galway Oyster Festival is one of Ireland's premier food festivals. The festival has been taking place for over 50 years and features food, entertainment and live music. The festival will occur from September 22 to 26. Live music will be taking place at many festival events. On September 24, The Dublin Gospel Choir will be performing at the Meyrick Hotel. An elaborate dinner will also be served and tickets to attend the event cost 100 Euros. On September 25, there will be live Latin music in the Latin Quarter of Galway and the official opening ceremony of the Oyster Festival will take place. The event is free to attend. On September 26, there will be Oyster Festival Gala Ball held in the Radisson Blu Hotel. The festival is wrapped up on Sunday 26th where the Friendship Band will play live music and resturants and pubs will serve seafood.
