Glasgow's location along the River Clyde within the west central lowlands make it an ideal locale for the annual Great Scottish Run put on the by the Bank of Scotland. This is a premiere event, and it is the largest mass sporting event throughout Scotland.

Great Scottish Run Glasgow - What You Should Know

Part of what makes this race so popular is the fact that it's a great event for everyone, no matter their age, profession or running capabilities. At the 2010 race there will be three team challenges offered so that something fun for everyone is available. The Corporate Challenge is great for companies, community groups and charities, while the Family Challenge is perfect for families looking to spend a little more quality time with one another. Finally, the Scottish Athletics Challenge is ideal for any already established sports teams throughout Scotland. All teams must have at least four participants but there is no maximum number of entrants, so feel free to make your team as large as you like. All winning teams will be calculated based on the finishing times of the top four runners of each team. All winners will receive trophies.

Great Scottish Run Glasgow - Important Details

This year's run will be held on Sunday, September 5. Participants have until Tuesday, August 31 at noon to register. You many choose to enroll online at the race's official website. The 10K race will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and the half marathon will begin an hour later at 10:30 a.m. If you haven't received your race pack in the mail be sure to email Glasgow@frsystems.co.uk or phone the hotline at 0845 270 0166. If you registered after Friday, August 20, however, you must pick up your race pack in person at the race office, which is located at 80 Jamaica Street on the corner of Clyde Street.
