So, you missed the annual Leeds International Beer Festival but you still fancy a tipple in the northern powerhouse during the run-up to Christmas. Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Leeds is a modern pilgrimage-site for beer lovers the world over, having been named the 5th Best City in Europe by the Lonely Planet for that very reason – at least in part. As you can imagine, there are plenty of ways to soak up that unique Leeds culture, all well within reach of Leonardo Hotel Leeds.

Belgrave Feast
Just a 10-minute walk from Leonardo Hotel LeedsNever drink on an empty stomach. Instead, swallow down your IPAs with some incredible street food at this year’s Belgrave Feast. Street food vendors will be spread across three floors of the Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen, alongside craft ale stalls and an art market.

The Belgrave Feast is free entry and it takes place on every second Saturday of the month, starting from the 9th December.

Bundobust
Just a 7-minute taxi ride from Leonardo Hotel Leeds

Bundobust is single-handedly challenging the British ale and pie culinary staple by offering Indian street food alongside an ale selection that will impress any connoisseur. Tapped craft ales and a varied selection of bottled beers are available in the rough-and-ready industrial space that’s naturally packed with like-minded people that simply love to eat and drink.

North Bar
Just an 8-minute taxi ride from Leonardo Hotel Leeds A pioneer of sheer beer variety for 20 years, North Bar is the go-to watering hole for anyone looking to sample a breadth of ales in a comfortable environment. They feature IPAs, local brews and experimental flavours from all around the world. It was named the single best place to drink in the UK by the Observer, and with stiff competition just around the corner, that’s no small achievement[1].

Northern Monk Refectory
Just a 5-minute taxi ride from Leonardo Hotel LeedsA tap room featuring 16 keg lines, two cask lines and plenty of potent bottled beers makes the Northern Monk Refectory a boozy oasis run by serious brewers. They offer brewery tours, tastings and open brew days so that you can have a guided drinking experience or get an in-depth look at the processes behind creating your favourite nectars.

THOR’s Tipi
Just a 22-minute taxi ride from Leonardo Hotel LeedsAn ancient Nordic twist on the ever-popular Bavarian Christmas market formula, THOR’S Tipi is a Viking-inspired pop-up bar at Victoria Gardens. It’s surrounded by market stalls selling BBQ food and the best ales from across the country. Take your tankard inside and celebrate the festive season with some medieval flair around one of the rustic log fires.

THOR’s Tipi is open from now until the 31st December and there is no entry fee.

If that doesn’t slake your thirst, then keep your eye on Leonardo Hotels over the next few days for our guide to the cosiest pubs in the UK.
