The Chelsea Flower Show 2011 is the world's most famous flower show. There are more than 30 gardens that are featured in this show. It is known for being on the cutting edge of design in gardens. It is held on May 24th through the 28th in Chelsea, London at the Royal Hospital. Unfortunately tickets are already sold out for this event which features gardens from B&Q, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Failte Ireland, Fleming Nurseries', Homebase, Ishihara Kazuyuki Design Laboratory, Laurent-Perrier, Leeds City Council, M&G Investments, Principality of Monaco, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, Skyshades, The Daily Telegraph, The Royal Bank of Canada, The Times, and Tourism Malaysia.
Travel Information
If you did manage to get a ticket there are plenty of ways to get to the show to make it as accessible as possible. The first way is via tube or bus, the Sloane Square tube station is about a 10 minute walk from the show ground. The second way is by rail, London Victoria being the closest train station to the show. Tickets for the rail are £2.50 for a single and £4 for return. If you are close enough you can take the more eco-friendly option and cycle, bicycles can be picked up in Burton's Court. Another option is to drive as there are more than 2000 places available for people to park.
Show Information
The Great Pavilion features a display of plants from the Himalayas, Rwanda and South America. The Himalayas is represented by Kevock Garden Plants which are grown by a husband and wife team and many of their plants cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. Rwanda is represented by the landscapes of Diana Fossey, a zoologist that made her career by studying gorillas. The main landscape will consist of Dicksonia antarctica, Euphorbia and Pandanus.
