Residents and visitors alike are set to celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2011 in Cork, Ireland, with a variety of city-wide festivities and attractions planned for the days of March 17th through the 20th. This event provides visitors an opportunity to explore Cork's rich history and enjoy its traditional St. Patrick's Day celebrations. With an emphasis on showcasing local food, music and crafts, the event represents a St. Patrick's Day experience that is unique to Cork.

An annual parade serves as the centrepiece of St. Patrick's Day in Cork, and 2011's celebration is no exception. The theme for this year's parade is Happiness, with applications for prospective participants being accepted up until Friday, February 25. The top parade participants are formally recognized every year, with awards being presented for the best overall entry, children's group, music group, dance group and sporting group. Cork's 2010 St. Patrick's Day Parade featured 2,100 participants, and is expected to be just as large this year. While the full list of attractions for St. Patrick's Day in Cork has yet to be announced, 2010 featured a diverse offering a entertainment and celebration. This included street performers, food markets and live, outdoor musical performances from swing, jazz, bluegrass, blues and traditional Irish groups and artists.
