On the 13th of February, 2011, Ireland will face off against France in the six nations rugby championship held in Dublin in Aviva Stadium. With student tickets for this match starting at €15 and general tickets around €50, this game is an excellent opportunity to spend time with the family for a top sporting event.

With a Rugby World Cup approaching, this year's Six Nations Championship will be an important time for teams getting their best World Cup squad in shape and blooding new talent into the squad. France are likely to be favourites for this Six Nations championship with Ireland alongside England not far behind. In terms of history between these sides, they have competed against each other 86 times - France has won 52 matches, Ireland has won 29, and there have been five draws. Having won this championship 16 times, France began playing rugby in 1872 and competed internationally for the first time in 1906. The France National Rugby Union Team joined the Six Nations Championship in 1910. This team has had nine grand slams in its history in the Six Nations Championship as compared to Ireland's two.
