Jurys Inn Newcastle has scooped a Silver award at the prestigious North East England Tourism Awards for Sustainable Tourism.
The highly acclaimed awards, organised by Regional Development Agency, One North East celebrate individuals, businesses and attractions who contribute to the region’s thriving tourism industry, which is worth almost £4 billion to the North East’s economy.
Jurys Inn Newcastle offers 274 contemporary bedrooms, nine dedicated meeting rooms and a quality bar and restaurant. It is also located just two minutes walk away from the city’s train station on Scotswood Road, making it ideal for visitors whether they come to see the sights, do business or take in a few of the many cultural and sporting attractions in the area.
David Malanaphy, General Manager at Jurys Inn Newcastle said: “My team and I work very hard to ensure all our guests enjoy their stay with us and we listen to feedback from existing and prospective customers, as we really do want to offer our guests a comfortable home away from home. So we’re delighted that our efforts have been recognised with a Silver award for Sustainable Tourism.”
He added: “Our region has a wide range of high quality tourism businesses and the North East England Tourism Awards are a fantastic way for any business to demonstrate that they are the best of the best. So I hope our award win will help us to strengthen and grow our customer base and assist in our mission to become the leading mid market hotel in the North East.
Geoff Hodgson, Chairman of the North East Tourism Advisory Board, who presented the winners with their awards said: “I would like to congratulate all of the winners on their success. The standard of entries this year was incredibly high and it was good to see so many new businesses entering for the first time.
“All of the finalists this year demonstrate the fantastic quality and diversity of tourism that we have in the region and are a great example of excellence.”
