Jurys Inn Croydon’s green credentials wowed the judges at this year’s Croydon Business Awards winning the hotel the ‘Best Green Business Award” as well as securing it place at the South London Business Awards which will be held in July in London.

Jurys Inn is the only hotel group to hold GTBS Gold Awards for all of its 31 UK and Ireland hotels.  Jurys Inn Croydon won this prestigious award from a shortlist of six other companies for the team’s continued commitment to its green, environmental and corporate/social responsibility policy.

The team had to provide an in depth account of the hotels carbon footprint, green policies and procedures (including its GTBS accreditation) as well as show how these are implemented on a day to day basis through education and training of both employees and guests.  The hotel also had to provide an outline of future plans and initiatives to demonstrate its ongoing commitment.

The judges said that we were the only hotel/business in Croydon that showed true commitment to green initiatives as well as our on-going work in the local community and our commitment to corporate/social responsibility.  And, they were particularly impressed with how we integrate all this it into our everyday business practice. We see environmental awareness as being key to implementing and sustaining our green policy. Our teams receive training on our policies and environmental practices at company induction and constantly receive refresher courses. We also remind the teams everyday in order to reinforce our commitment to the environment and what we hope, will become to them and our guests a way of life”.

Jurys Inn Croydon has just celebrated its 10th Anniversary and underwent a £1.5 million refurbishment, which was completed last year.
