Jurys Inn Southampton Gives a Warm Welcome to New Management
Jurys Inn Southampton has welcomed a new General Manager, David Shiels to lead the team which runs the largest hotel in the city, boasting 270 bedrooms and ten dedicated meeting rooms and is situated centrally in Charlotte Place.
David has been promoted by the hotel group in recognition of his excellent work as Deputy General Manager for Jurys Inn BirminghamSouthampton. The promotion demonstrates the continued commitment in 2011 to invest in people and maintain excellence in service for Jurys Inn.
David discovered his love for the hospitality industry at an early age, starting as a waiter in a small independently run hotel, gradually working his way up the career ladder over the past 13 years. From Kitchen Porter and Receptionist to Duty Manager and Department Head across a range of big brand hotel groups, David has been driven to succeed by a passion for delivering exceptional service. His attitude to delivering the highest standard of service has enabled him to work his way up through the Jurys Inn ranks, giving him the opportunity to take the post as General Manager for Southampton.
John Brennan, CEO of Jurys Inn says: “It is very rewarding to see employees that have joined us early in their careers realise their potential. We are continually assessing and evolving our training programme to challenge and engage our teams. New challenges are crucial to retaining and engaging with a valued workforce and internal moves are very much encouraged and supported. It gives us great pleasure to reward such talented and committed people. ”
Jurys Inn introduced an enhanced management training programme earlier this year as part of the company’s continued commitment to engaging and retaining valued employees as well as attracting fresh new talent.
Jurys Inn Southampton is an ideal base for exploring the city’s galleries, parks and many other attractions and is situated just five minutes from the Central Rail Station.
