Jurys Inn Edinburgh has triumphed over other successful Scottish businesses and won the Green Award for Scotland in the 2010 regional heat of the British Chamber of Commerce Chamber Awards.
The highly acclaimed Green Award recognises and rewards eco friendly businesses and is awarded to the company that best demonstrates environmental and ethical best practice, and sustainable development.
As part of the hotel’s green plan the hotel takes regular meter readings and has employed a ‘reuse, reduce, and recycle’ policy. It also uses phosphate-free cleaning products with limited packaging and is continuing to upskill staff in environmental policy to help identify further ways of reducing its energy consumption and water usage.
As winners of the prestigious award, Jurys Inn Edinburgh will now automatically enter the national British Chamber of Commerce Chamber Awards, where they will battle it out for the national title in their category, as well as the chance to collect the ‘Outstanding Business Achievement’ accolade. The winner of this award wins a top reward of £25,000, with runners up gaining prizes of £15,000 and £10,000.

The hotel’s excellent green credentials were also recognised earlier this year at the Scottish Hotel Awards where Jurys Inn Edinburgh won the Scottish Eco Hotel of the Year, meanwhile Jurys Inn Hotel Group scooped the Eco Hotel Group of the Year at the awards.
The national winners of the British Chamber of Commerce Chamber Awards will be announced at a glittering award ceremony at London’s Hurlingham Club on the 25th November.
