Jurys Inn completes major £1 million upgrade of Belfast hotel
submited Thu 16 Sep, 2010
Jurys Inn Hotel Group
celebrated completing a major £1 million refurbishment
and upgrade of its landmark hotel at Great Victoria Street, Belfast today with an open day.
The investment in the Belfast hotel
, which has taken five months to complete, includes the refurbishment of its 190 bedrooms making them equivalent in terms of contemporary design and decor to those in the very latest Jurys Inn hotels. The hotel reception, restaurant, bar and meeting areas have also all been upgraded.
As part of the open day, 190 biodegradable balloons were released to mark the refurbishment of the bedrooms, with each one containing a prize which ranged from a free coffee to a complimentary overnight stay in one of the 31 Jurys Inn hotels. A buffet lunch and refreshments was also served to guests.
The refurbishment of Jurys Inn Belfast forms part of an extensive £9 million investment programme which is being rolled out in support of the hotel group’s new brand proposition of Exceptional Everyday City Hotels. The renovation of Jurys Inn Belfast forms an essential part of delivering and supporting this new brand proposition. Ryan Foster, General Manager
of Jurys Inn Belfast said: “All of the changes to the hotel have been heavily influenced by feedback from existing and prospective customers, as we really do want to offer our guests an exceptional home away from home.
“We’re delighted with the end result of the refurbishment – we now have the newest quality hotel rooms and facilities in Belfast city centre. The layout of the hotel also suits our diverse range of visitors, including families and business people; we’ve opened ten large executive rooms and a number of dedicated family rooms for up to two adults and two children, which is unique in the city centre.”
Mr Foster added: “The open day was a great success. It gave us a good opportunity to really showcase the new look of the hotel and we received many compliments from both regular and prospective customers, so I’m confident the makeover will help strengthen our customer base as well as boost our local economy.”
Foster says that local tradespeople and suppliers worked extensively on the project. These included Balmoral Furniture, Ulster Carpets and Bracken Blinds.
Having opened seven new hotels in 2009 the Jurys Inn Hotel Group now operates 30 city centre hotels in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Prague. Over the next two years, Jurys Inn will make further investments in new hotel openings, with hotels in Bradford and Portsmouth opening this year and in Gateshead and Glasgow in 2011.
