Swindon’s new Jurys Inn opens its doors next Friday, 12th June, and in preparation staff have been brushing up on their local knowledge through a treasure hunt. The 49 employees were split into eight teams and raced the length and breadth of the town on foot. Among the landmarks visited were Queens Park, the Old Town Gardens and Central Library, as well as other locations just as synonymous with Swindon such as the magic roundabout.
The treasure hunt was developed with the help of Sinclair Brown, who is responsible for Tourism within Swindon Borough Council. He was only too pleased to offer support: “The new hotel is a great addition to Swindon and organising the treasure hunt was an excellent way of familiarising the Jurys Inn Swindon hotel staff with many of the highlights the town has to offer.” |

Andy Gray, General Manager of Jurys Inn Swindon adds, “The treasure hunt was great fun and was a fantastic way for the team to get to know each other before we open our doors next week. While the vast majority of employees are local, it’s important that they see the area from a visitor’s perspective to help ensure that all our guests have a fantastic stay.”
Jurys Inns Swindon hotel is part of an impressive rollout for the Jurys Inns group, which opens a total of six new hotels in the UK and its first in Continental Europe in 2009. A further four new hotels will open in 200. The Jurys Inns launch programme highlights the consumer demand for premium budget accommodation, offering a great service and warm welcome. All Jurys Inns staff participate in local treasure hunts before a hotel opening to make sure everyone in the team is a local concierge.
