Nigel Clough officially opens Jurys Inn Derby as the hotel gets ready to kick-off its sponsorship of the club at Saturday’s first pre-season game.

Derby hotel have held a ceremony today, Friday 31st July to commemorate the launch of the new hotel. The hotel was officially opened by Nigel Clough, Manager of Derby County Football Club. Jurys Inn Derby has announced it will sponsor the club for one season beginning tomorrow, Saturday 1st August at the club’s first pre-season friendly home game against Stoke City.
The opening ceremony included a champagne reception, hosted by Rachel Strange, General Manager of Jurys Inn Derby, followed by a lunch for associates of the hotel and local business partners.
During the ceremony, Rachel Strange announced a new charity partnership with Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance as part of the hotel’s community partnership programme. The programme focuses on developing partnerships with local charities and businesses to support Derby. The hotel’s partnership with the Derby County Football Club is also part of this programme.
Rachel Strange, General Manager of Jurys Inn Derby commented:

Our staff are huge supporters of him and the Derby County team and it was very exciting to have him here to cut the ribbon. Since opening our doors just over a month ago we have been focused on becoming a central part of the local community and we are very happy to be partnering with Derby County Football Club and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance.”
The £20 million hotel, which has 213 bedrooms and five dedicated conference rooms, has been welcomed by the local community and proved to be a huge success since opening last month.
Following the official opening ceremony, Derby County Football Club held a press conference at Jurys Inn Derby to announce details of their first pre-season friendly home game against Stoke City.

An informal contemporary restaurant provides a range of value for money dinner options as well as breakfast, whilst the relaxed bar area features a varied menu of sandwiches, light dishes and drinks. The coffee bar, Il Barista, serves a range of pastries and coffee-to-go.
