Stirling Castle, in the heart of Scotland, was considered the centre of art and culture in the 16th century. Jurys Inn Glasgow is about 40 minutes’ drive from Stirling, so it could be worth staying there and taking a trip over to the most popular historic attraction in the UK.

The Houses of Parliament in London have stood the test of time despite being ravaged by fire in the 16th and 18th centuries. Gloucester Cathedral was joint second in the list alongside the Houses of Parliament. The history of this attraction, to which entry is free, extends all the way back to the 13th century. In fact a nine-year old Henry III was crowned in the cathedral in 1216. Chatsworth House in Derbyshire is the seat of the Duke of Devonshire, and there are always lots in the house, garden, farmyard and adventure playground for the public to enjoy. Jurys Inn Derby is just 45 minutes from the house. 

Penrhyn Castle comes in at fifth place and is the only Welsh attraction on the list. This 19th century property lies between Snowdonia and the Menai Strait, and houses one of the finest art collections in Wales.
