The Cork Jazz Festival is a jazz music festival that has been held in Cork City each year since 1978. The Cork Jazz Festival represents the largest jazz event in Ireland, with thousands of fans in attendance each year. Historically, the Cork Jazz Festival has attracted some of the biggest names in jazz, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Dave Brubeck and Wynton Marsalis. In 2010, the Cork Jazz Festival will be taking place from October 22nd through the 25th.
Attending the Cork Jazz Festival Unlike some music festivals that use one central concert area for all of their shows, the
Cork Jazz Festival takes place at a multitude of venues around Cork City, including the Savoy, Triskel at Jurys Cork Hotel, the Firkin Crane, the Pavilion, Cyprus Avenue, Everyman Palace Theatre, and Guinness Festival Club. Tickets for each show are available separately. You can book your tickets by visiting the homepage of the appropriate venue, calling the venue or visiting in person. Tickets for most shows cost between €10 and €40.

Other performers at the 2010 Cork Jazz Festival include AJM Collective, Apes and Babes, Omar Sosa, Vijay Iyer Trio, Tord Gustavsen Ensemble, the Brand New Heavies, One O'Clock Lab Band, Neil Cowley Trio, Louis Stewart International Quartet, Guillermo Rozenthuler Duo, Creamy Goodness, Robert Glasper Experiment, Yuri Honing's Wired Paradise, and Andreas Varady / David Lyttle Quartet. All of these artists and more will be performing live at the Cork Jazz Festival.
