How to find our hotel in Oxford

Our four star hotel is conveniently located just 10-15 minutes from Oxford city centre with easy transport links to the city including a bus stop outside the hotel which brings you directly into the city centre. Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is easily accessible by car from the A34, A44 and M40 and is a 15 minute drive from the nearest train station Oxford railway station or 25 minutes by bus. The closest airport is London Heathrow.

We have 250 parking spaces available within the hotel grounds.  This includes 6 accessible spaces,

The car park is on a first arrive first serve basis therefore spaces cannot be reserved in advance.  The cost per 24 hours/overnight is £6 per night. The following tariff applies:

Up to 1 hour: Free

Up to 4 hours: £2.00

Up to 12 hours: £4.00

13 to 24 hours: £6.00

Blue Badge Holders are Free of Charge with valid badge

To Access the Car Park:

  • Drive up to the entrance barrier and press the button to collect a ticket
  • If staying in the hotel overnight, advise the reception team that you have a car in the car park and they will provide a multiple exit ticket and charge the parking onto your account.  You will receive a VAT receipt upon check out.
  • After check in, you will have to take a ticket each time you enter the car park, however this can be disposed of and just use the multiple use exit ticket which you were provided.
  • If attending the hotel for a short period of time, to attend a conference for example, please use the automated machine in the lobby prior to leaving the hotel.  You will need your entrance ticket to use the automated machine.  This machine accepts Debit or Credit cards only.  Your ticket is your payment receipt and will be returned when exiting the barrier.  You are not required to leave your car registration details.

If you are staying in the hotel as an overnight guest you can use the car park prior to checking in and after checking out if required.  Just advise the reception team when checking in so the correct multiple exit ticket can be provided.

To Access the City Centre from the Hotel:

Walk – this will take approximately 1 hour either via Woodstock Road or the canal tow path

Car – please be aware that parking in the city is limited.  We would recommend using Oxford Westgate car park

Taxi – a taxi costs approximately £11 per journey depending on traffic.  The reception team can call you a cab if required and we work with 001 Taxis (01865 240000)

Bus – the number 35 leaves from Mere Road which is just around the corner from the hotel entrance.  The bus runs every 20 minutes  and takes around 30 minutes to reach the city centre.

Electric Vehicle Charging

Unfortunately the hotel does not currently offer electric vehicle charging points. The nearest charging points are located at Peartree Services, OX2 8JD, which is 0.6miles from the hotel. By car

Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is a 13 minute drive from the Oxford Railway Station. When leaving the station, head north and turn right toward Park End St/A420. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Park End St/A420 and take a slight left toward Hythe Bridge St/A4144.  Continue to follow A4144 and take a right oto Beaumount Street taking a slight left onto St Giles/A4144.  
Continue towards Godstow Road taking the first exit on the roundabout and the Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford will be on your right. Sat Nav drivers can use postcode: OX2 8AL.

By bus

The no. 6 bus leaves close to the railway station and will take you to the hotel.

Bicester Village is a relaxed outlet shopping centre in beautiful surroundings in the Oxfordshire countryside. A haven for shoppers, you will find all the high end brands you would expect with fantastic reductions all year around. Located just a 15 minute drive from the Bicester Village, Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is perfectly placed for a trip to the outlet centre. The outlet centre is also accessible by public transport. You will need to walk approx. 13 minutes from Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford to Five Mile Drive (adj) and take the S5 towards Langford Village. The bus journey takes approx. 17 minutes.

Oxford Parkway is located less than a ten minute drive from Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford. The train runs direct to London Marylebone and Bicester Village, twice an hour and journey times are from 55 minutes.

By car

Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is a 54 minute drive from London Heathrow Airport. Head northeast and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout. Head for the M40 to jump onto the M25.  At junction 16, merge onto the M40 and take the A34 exit to Oxford and continue on the A34 toward Godstow road.  When you come to the roundabout, take the first exit and continue on the A34.  Exit at A44 toward Oxford.  You will drive toward another roundabout and take the 2nd exit onto Woodstock Road where you will come toward another roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Godstow Road.

By bus

Take the OXF towards Oxford City Centre from the Heathrow Central bus station. Stop at Gloucester Green and change bus here to the S2 towards Carterton. Stop at First Turn and walk approx. 5 minutes to Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford. This journey takes 2 hours and 10 minutes.

By car

Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is just 13 minutes’ drive from the city centre. Follow the A420 onto the A414A and continue to Godstow Road. Sat Nav drivers can use postcode: OX2 8AL. 

By bus

The no. 35 bus leaves from the city centre and will take you to the hotel.

The Pear Tree Park and Ride service is conveniently located just a 3 minute drive from Jurys Inn Oxford. The bus will take you into the city centre in 20-25 minutes making it an easy commute for business and leisure travellers alike to reach the city centre.
