Official Opening Ceremony to be held on Monday 18th May
After throwing its doors open to the public on Friday 27th March, the team at Jurys Inn Watford are holding an official opening ceremony, to commemorate the launch of the new hotel, at 12pm on Monday 18th May 2009. The £16.5 million hotel, which has 216 bedrooms and eight dedicated meeting rooms, has proved a huge success since opening in March, welcomed by the local community and creating 45 jobs in the area.
Jurys Inn Watford is the Group’s 19th UK based hotel and part of an impressive roll-out for the Jurys Inns group, which is launching seven new hotels in 2009 and a further three in 2010. The Jurys Inns new launch programme highlights the consumer demand for premium budget accommodation, offering a great service and warm welcome.
The opening ceremony will include a champagne reception, hosted by Michelle Hickey, General Manager of Jurys Inn Watford, followed by a lunch for associates of the hotel and local business partners. Dorothy Thornhill, Elected Mayor of Watford will be in attendance, to officially open the hotel. As key supporters of Jurys Inn Watford, the management of Watford Football Club will also attend the ceremony, along with a surprise appearance from an ex-Watford FC player.
During the ceremony, Michelle Hickey will announce a new charity partnership, as Jurys Inn Watford confirms The Prince’s Trust as its Charity of the Year. A young ambassador from The Prince’s Trust will be present at the ceremony and offer a few words on the planned collaboration. Further details will be announced at a later date.

Each of the 216 spacious bedrooms at the hotel have been stylishly designed with comfort in mind and can accommodate either three adults; two adults and two children; or just a single person. All rooms feature high-speed internet access, 26 inch flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, self-control air-conditioning and a direct dial telephone. The Jurys Inns fixed room rate pricing policy offers excellent value for money with a Special Weekend rate available from £49 per night.
An informal contemporary restaurant provides a range of value for money dinner options as well as breakfast, whilst the relaxed bar area features a varied menu of sandwiches, light dishes and drinks. The wide-screen TV will broadcast news roundups at breakfast and key sporting events in the evenings, whilst the coffee bar, Il Barista, will serve a range of pastries and gourmet coffee-to-go for those tight on time.
